Enlightenment Defended
Politics • Spirituality/Belief • Culture
Enlightenment Defended will repel the dark nihilism of “post-truth”, woke culture, identity politics, and political correctness. It will catalyse the bright flame of the enlightenment —liberty, reason and progress.

Enlightenment Defended will create an open realm of vigorous philosophical debate through animation, documentaries, poetry, humour, music and myth. People are many-sided in both apprehension and enjoyment.

Step Forth from the Nightmare and Don’t Turn Back.

[For those in the UK on the 19th July, the so-called Freedom Day.]

Life confronts us with myriad parallel challenges from random directions and so does not smile kindly on the blinkered.

It’s time to remove the leather screens attached to your bridle that have prevented you from seeing sideways and behind and being startled. You’re not a workhorse, but a human being.

It’s important to emerge today from the cowed and anxious cave of panic and feel the cool breeze of liberty.

Step forth from the nightmare and don’t turn back. Walk as far as you like to another bright valley of sunlight, breath in deeply the blue sky and open your arms to others.

Show your face to young people to show them warmth, the way to confidence and a balanced view of life’s challenges. Some will fear the light as they have become accustomed to the illusory security of the shadow life of the cave, and so give them time and space.

Help the people who are in government escape from their own cave of their own making. At first, accept the fallibility of people for to err is human. Even the arrogant and powerful need your redemption from the nightmares they have woven so that we can all move on. This is not naivety speaking, but enlightened forgiveness.

Walk forward today with bold strides and don’t turn back. You’re not alone. You have the strength to remove your blinkers, look to the sides and all around. Stop stepping blindly into the busy road to avoid people on the pavement. Expect to be startled occasionally, but just take it step-by-step. Start to live like a noble free human being worthy of emulation. You owe it to your children and your children’s children.
